CREATIVE PROCESS

Creative Process: Text

In creating this project, I learned a lot about the creative process in general, and how I work through the creative process. Starting with my work process, I learned that it is easier for me to manage tasks when I do them at relatively the same time in my schedule every time. Whether this is on a daily or weekly basis, it makes tasks easier for me to manage. I used 'time boxing' to help me do this, which is dividing my time into set tasks on a calendar, to help me stay on track throughout the day (Parkinson).

On the creative side of things, the most important thing I learned is that it is much easier for me to do creative activities when I am interested in it and actually want to complete it. Whenever I wasn’t interested in working on the project, I found it very difficult to get any meaningful work on it, because I kept running into blocks in creativity. If it was a time sensitive task, I would use a technique we talked about in our creativity lesson to get past my creative block. I found the most helpful to be exercise. I would think about my project while I walked, and it allowed me to take a step back from the project while still thinking about it.
